«Year of QRP» is completed, results of last Round VII are published. The event was attended by 28 active radio amateurs from 8 countries.
Absolute winner is Vladimir UR0ET, who established 201 QSO with unique correspondents from 34 DXCC countries. Vladimir is also a winner among RU-QRP members. Thus, he gets two awards — Certificates for free printing QSL-cards at UA1OMS QSL Print.
Highest number of QSO among the Russian participants held RW3AI (96 QSO) and RD2A (92 QSO). But since they did not send stories, records, photos and/or videos about their the QRP in 2015 under the Rules, organizers have decided that third prize from UA1OMS QSL Print goes to Alexei RU3FB (84 QSO with 19 DXCC countries), who was next to them but completed all the Rules.
According to the results of the lottery, drew out of January 7 by RDRC, a prize for using DIGI modes gets Dmitry RX3AVD. Dmitry involved in our event near the end, but nevertheless, was able to win first place in the final round and a valuable prize in the lottery, our congratulations!
Second lottery — the «Year of QRP» was raffled.
According to the Rules, HAMs who have sent reports of at least three rounds can become а participant of this lottery. Excluding organizers there are six lottery participants — IK2RMZ, RA7RA, RU3FB, RW3AI, RX3PR and UR5FA with 38 lottery tickets. Thus only one VHF/UHF antenna was raffled and was won by Pavel Petrov, RA7RA.

«Year of QRP» team.
Want to try a low-power operation, but not getting many contacts? Then this is for you!
We are a few members of the RU-QRP Club, have joined our efforts to increase the QRP-activity on all bands and all modes, we propose to try in practise the fun of low-power operation. We hope, this year all of us will get an occasion and rare opportunity to remember again our first contacts made on homemade or simple equipment, plunge into the magical world of radio, experience incredible feelings by making contacts (QSOs) with other countries and continents. All using less power than that of a flashlight bulb and fulfiling the conditions to achieve interesting and challenging QRP-awards.
What do you do? Shake off the dust from your radio, reduce power down to 5 watts for CW/DIGI or 10 watts for SSB and join in near QRP-frequencies! Our event is already supported by many QRPers from all continents, because QRV is better than Internet trifle, isn`t it?
Rules of the event are simple — switch ON your radio and make OSO!
A bit of history or how it appeared

It is no secret: in recent years is quite difficult to find a correspondent for the experiment with homemade devices and/or antennas, especially when you working with QRP power. A year ago, unsuccessfully sending CQ, I was thinking about questions: «Where are all QRPers? How to increase activity in the QRP-frequencies?». Responses were both simple and difficult at the same time: for the question «Where?» — the answer is: «In the Internet, on discussion forums and websites», for the question «How?» — people need be interested in different capacities and bonuses, so make simple rules and publish them to the Internet.
After analyzing the various rules, taking part in a variety of activities (from different contests to games and meetings), I prepared the rules, created a thread on the forum on the site of RU-QRP Club and proposed rules for discussion.
To my pleasure, the idea about enhancing the activity of QRP stations regardless of their location, equipment and use different types of modes, found a warm response and assistance from ordinary QRPers to management of oldest QRP clubs in the world. A team has formed and work began for the implementation of this important and useful activity for many QRPers.
So, the first consist of team:
- Stan UA3LMR (also RD2A) — author of the idea and the judge on the reports;
- Vit RN3ANT — web site builder and administrator;
- Vlad UR0ET — author of the gifts and award manager.
You can also become a member of our friendly team, which is not intended to create a new club or receive any profit. The main and only goal is to promote our work on air with QRP power in all its manifestations.
